Cutting hedge comedy is an independant comedy club based in Low Fell at the Gateshead Comedy lounge in the recently refurbished Gateshead Rugby Club.
With a membership of 80 singers and growing, the choir is always pleased to entertain audiences and to welcome new members. The choir performs regularly throughout the region and the United Kingdom and looks forward to foreign trips
Since 1920, the choir has promoted male voice singing by developing a increasingly wider repertoire. With music from Palestrina to the popular, from local folk to global music, we hope that there is always something for everyone at every rehearsal and concert
For a number of years the choir has been pleased to be able to perform their signature tune, “Music” by John Miles, at the beginning of every concert.
The wonderful folk at Josie’s Dragonfly Trust will be joining us on Friday 4th May.
Josie’s Dragonfly Trust makes a very real and positive difference to the lives of young cancer patients with limited time.
We passionately believe in the importance of happy memories and we work tirelessly to make them happen for young people and their families.
Join us for an evening with the “King of Swing”
Enjoy a sophisticated evening of ‘Swing Fever’ with Jason Isaacs the biggest voice in swing.
We guarantee you’ll fall in love with Jason’s smooth, velvet-like voice, paying his own unique tribute to the rat pack era with his rousing interpretation of all the great swing classics, trademark sax solos and tongue-in-cheek humour.
The evening is organised by cutting hedge events.
Tickets are priced at £10 and available via the this website or www.cuttinghedgeevents.com
We are delighted to announce that the wonderful George Welch and Christine Jeans will once again be joining us on Sunday 6th May.
We’ve had the pleasure of hosting both George and Christine for the last 5 or 6 years… They are the perfect accompaniment for the Sunday afternoon session.
George has, for many years, graced the live music scene delighting audiences with his quirky sense of humour, memorable vocals, guitar, cittern and ukulele. Christine is involved with the local folk music scene playing banjo, bass and ukulele. George and Christine have played together for several years at folk venues from Scotland to Northumberland to Yorkshire and enjoy every minute.
Sunday 6th May 12pm – 2pm in the hall.
