Big Red & The Grinners

Featuring banjo, accordion, double bass, acoustic guitars and percussion, Big Red & the

Grinners move seamlessly from the likes of Technotronic’s ‘Pump Up the Jam’ to Tony Rice’s bluegrass classic ‘Freeborn Man’, or from Jay Z’s ’99 Problems’ to Kelly Joe Phelps’
masterpiece ‘Window Grin’. Trying to describe the genius of this band is difficult – you just need to see them!
“Clever repertoire, pitch perfect harmonies and top-notch musicianship make them the band I recommend to every festival I work with” – Stephen Steinhaus, Festival Booker, Upton Blues
Festival (BBA Blues Festival of the Year 2015 & 2016)
“I’ve been in the music business a long time and it takes a bit to impress me, but stood at the back
I was blown away with the quality of the musicianship, humour and sound of Big Red and the
Grinners” – Steve Williams, Director, Willowman Festival
“100% Total entertainment” – Veece, Festival Director, Stormin’ the Castle biker’s rally
“These guys stole the show, unforgettable” – Andy Buyers, South Tyneside Council, Mouth of the
Tyne Festival
“Pure genius!” –Jumpin’ Hot Club, Americana Festival, Sage Gateshead

Bessie & the zinc buckets

Hill-billy bluegrass, some rock and roll, and some classic rock sounds from Black Sabbath, or U2. Random versions of the music of Dark Side of The Moon with the lyrics of Dire Straits Money for Nothing, which last heard in the Maggie back in May 2010. How about the family favorite Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or even the pop classic sounds of The Bay City Rollers. Anything is possible as Bessie & The Zinc Buckets don’t actually plan a gig, they play requests, no matter what they will have a go at it.

The Revolutionaires

2013 promo Revs photo

Scorching a trail across the live music venues of the land is this sizzlin’ hot 1950’s R&B combo…The Revolutionaires!

Established within the ‘hotbed’ of the North East music scene in the UK, they power out jumpin’ hot rhythm & blues in their own indomitable hard hitting style.
Primarily, they are influenced by 1940’s and 1950’s R&B. In particular, Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Roy Brown, but have adopted a harder and more aggressive approach, synonymous with modern blues artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Mike Henderson which helps create their own high energy sound.
Over the last decade The Revolutionaires have established themselves on the UK and European Rockin’ circuit, as well as the Blues scene.
They have toured extensively both home and abroad, performing at festivals in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Malta and Dubai.
Highlights include performing at festivals with artistes such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Sting, Tom Jones, Hugh Laurie, Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Cray, Walter Trout, Eric Bibb, Albert Lee, Snake Davis and Dave Edmunds.

The band has recorded five CDs to date containing a collection of Hot Rockin’ R&B tracks. Each CD captures the ‘rawness’ and sheer energy of the band, who like to give their performances a ‘hard-edged’ vibe!
