The Revolutionaires – (19:30- 20:30)

2013 promo Revs photo

Scorching a trail across the live music venues of the land is this sizzlin’ hot 1950’s R&B combo…The Revolutionaires!

Established within the ‘hotbed’ of the North East music scene in the UK, they power out jumpin’ hot rhythm & blues in their own indomitable hard hitting style.
Primarily, they are influenced by 1940’s and 1950’s R&B. In particular, Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Roy Brown, but have adopted a harder and more aggressive approach, synonymous with modern blues artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Mike Henderson which helps create their own high energy sound.
Over the last decade The Revolutionaires have established themselves on the UK and European Rockin’ circuit, as well as the Blues scene.
They have toured extensively both home and abroad, performing at festivals in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Malta and Dubai.
Highlights include performing at festivals with artistes such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Sting, Tom Jones, Hugh Laurie, Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Cray, Walter Trout, Eric Bibb, Albert Lee, Snake Davis and Dave Edmunds.

The band has recorded five CDs to date containing a collection of Hot Rockin’ R&B tracks. Each CD captures the ‘rawness’ and sheer energy of the band, who like to give their performances a ‘hard-edged’ vibe!

Flipside – (17:25-18:05)

In 2016, a group of young and enthusiastic music loving teenagers, with diverse musical tastes, came together to form Flipside. Solo acoustic singer/song writer Anya Mckenzie joined guitarist siblings Luke and Eva Potts, and drummer Olivia Binns who had already formed an impressive back line. A couple of jam sessions later the chemistry was clear and Flipside were born.

The band have evolved an eclectic set including artists such as The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse, The Who, Stereophonics, Joan Jett, Arctic Monkeys, The Fratellis, Green Day, Blur and Oasis. Cover tracks are approached in an original way, changing arrangements, creating medleys and looking to blend Anya’s vocal range, texture and dynamics with the abundance of power and energy generated by Luke, Eva and Olivia.

It’s been a busy 2016 with the band cutting their teeth on the local pub and club circuit where they have built up a dedicated following of live music lovers of all ages. Their proudest moment came in June when they played to a sell-out audience at the 02 Academy as the main support act.

The band have taken some time out from gigging to work on their first original EP that they are looking to record over the Christmas period. Flipside pride themselves on making sure that the audience enjoy themselves as much as they do, at every gig they play.  A must see.

Line up Anya Mckenzie – Vocals/Rhythm guitar, Eva Potts-Lead Guitar, Olivia Binns- Drums and Luke Potts-Bass.
