Cutting Hedge Comedy Returns to Gateshead

By | Cutting Hedge Comedy

Cutting hedge comedy is an independant comedy club based in Low Fell at the Gateshead Comedy lounge in the recently refurbished Gateshead Rugby Club.

The club was established in November 2016 and it’s opening night sold out in a matter of days. Comedy fans that evening were entertained by a lineup consisiting of Lee Kyle, Will Duggan, Anthony King and Carl Hutchinson fresh from his tour with Chris Ramsey.
The team have recently released their programme for the up and coming months and it consists of Cutting Hedge Comedy – Part Deux this Friday, Lee Kyle -Folly (National tour) on Wed March 28th and Cutting Hedge – April Fools on the 6th April.
Both Cutting Hedge nights have stunning line-ups with Mike Wilkinson, Nick Cranston and David Hadigham this Friday. In April we have Mickey Hutton (Star of Spender, Crocodiles shoes, Hangar 17), Phil Walker (Son of Roy Walker) & Roger Monkhouse (No relation).
Both these shows are set to feature a special guest, due to contractual agreements they can’t reveal the names of the guests but both are well respected on the comedy circuit.
After mc’ing their debut event Lee Kyle was so impressed that he’s bringing his touring show to the venue with support from the wonderful Sammy Dobson.
The team behind Cutting Hedge Comedy also run Cutting Hedge Events which recently hosted the sellout an Evening with the King of swing – Jason Issaacs.
We’ve got more great shows coming in the near future so head to www.cuttinghedgeevents.com for ticket and line-up news.

Award winning choir to perform at Gateshead Beer & Music Festival

By | The Festival

With a membership of 80 singers and growing, the choir is always pleased to entertain audiences and to welcome new members. The choir performs regularly throughout the region and the United Kingdom and looks forward to foreign trips

Since 1920, the choir has promoted male voice singing by developing a increasingly wider repertoire. With music from Palestrina to the popular, from local folk to global music, we hope that there is always something for everyone at every rehearsal and concert

For a number of years the choir has been pleased to be able to perform their signature tune, “Music” by John Miles, at the beginning of every concert.
