Lee Kyle to bring his touring comedy show to Gateshead in March 2018

By | The Festival

We are thrilled to announce that the sublime Lee Kyle will be bringing his solo show “Folly” to Gateshead Rugby Club on Wednesday 28th March 2018.

We are chuffed that Lee has chosen our club as part of his National Tour!

We are delighted to support Lee and we hope that you too show your support at what plans to be cracking event!

Lee will be returning fresh from his hilarious mc’ing duties at Cutting Hedge Comedy’s debut gig in November.

At the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe, Lee Kyle got a really nice review. The bit that stuck in his mind was that ‘It would be good to see him find more of his audience’.

“Yeah” he thought “It bloody would!”

So, in a moment of madness, he has decided to bite off more than he can chew and has booked a 30+ date national tour, as an attempt to answer the question “What happens if you do a tour while not actually being famous?”

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he is ending the tour with a gig in a 400 seat theatre in his home town.

He’ll also be recording a documentary as he goes, while hoping not to regret it.

He’s good by the way, should have probably have said that earlier. He’s done a bit of telly and radio but nothing you’ll have seen, which is a good thing really or the whole point of the tour won’t have made sense.

He had a book out last year, that was in the top ten comedians books on Amazon UK and led to almost no rasing of his profile. His podcast with Sammy Dobson (From BBCs Boy Meets Girl (Yep, she’s better known)) is called Which Is The Best? and is funny and is liked by people who like it.

Come on, get on board, take a chance. Be cool.

Cutting Hedge Comedy to return to Gateshead in 2018

By | The Festival

Following the roaring success of the Cutting Hedge November gig, the Cutting Hedge Team are bringing their second show back to Gateshead on 23rd February 2018

Here is the information taken from the Cutting Hedge website:-

***February line-up partly confirmed!***

Our Mc is yet to be confirmed.

Our Mystery opening act is one of the UK’s top circuit comedians… (November’s mystery act was the wonderful Carl Hutchinson – so expect someone equal brilliant).

Our middle act is local lad Nick Cranston.
Since starting out doing stand up comedy in 2008, Nick has established himself as ‘one of the North East of England’s most promising comedians’

Closing the night will be the wonderfully manic David Hadingham.

David has been a professional comic since May 1996. Intense and anecdotal, David keeps audiences hooked right up to the last punchline as he presents his unique and often warped view of everyday life. This gravel-voiced comic combines supremely controlled delivery with inimitable facial contortions as he cracks some of the best handmade gags in the business.

“ranting and raving comic genius” – The Guardian
