***Festival Info***

Only a few days to go to our 8th music and beer festival. As ever we’re getting very excited about our line up of music and beer selections – we hope you are too. To see our music line up – http://www.gatesheadbeerfestival.co.uk/music and to see our selection of beers of ciders – http://www.gatesheadbeerfestival.co.uk/drinks-food/ . We also have a great selection of gins, whiskeys, premium lagers and bottles of fizz available to ensure we cater for all tastes. In addition our bar is also open in the clubhouse.

The guys in the kitchen are working hard to put on a great choice of food with plenty of vegetarian choices for you all to enjoy.

We have made a couple of changes to how the festival operates this year to make it easier for our visitors. All visitors will be issued with a coloured wristband on entry. You must be wearing a wristband to be served. Please note under 18s will not be issued with a wristband but can buy soft drinks from our food zone or the clubhouse bar.

You are welcome to bring along your own picnic to the festival however due to the strict terms of our licence you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol into the grounds or premises of the rugby club. Unfortunately if you are found to have done this we will have to ask you to leave. The ongoing organisation of events such as the music and beer festival is dependent on us working closely with the licensing authorities and we cannot afford to put this at risk therefore this area of the event will be closely monitored – we hope you comply with our request and refrain from bringing along any alcohol.

Thanks for your support and we hope you have a great festival. 🍻🍻🍻

The Shakes look ahead to next Sunday!

By | Beer Festival 2017 | No Comments

We’ve been chatting to Terry from THE SHAKES about next Sunday’s headline slot!

“When we started the band a couple of years ago we had no idea that we would get to play events like Gateshead beer festival so we’re chuffed to have been asked to play. Beer and music what’s not to like!

Anyone who’s seen us before knows that we have loads of fun on stage and buzz off a good crowd so we can’t wait to get up there and do our thing!

Bring your dancing shoes, we’ll see you at the bar!”

Our Friday headliners are The mOObs, who are back again after debuting at our 2016 Festival when they absolutely blew the tent away. The band are also regular headliners Keswick beer festival and we are delighted to welcome them back to to Gateshead.

We spoke to Ged from the band and he said “The mOObs are thrilled to be invited back! GBF has a great atmosphere, of course great beer and again, we’ll be doing our best to add to the great music. See you on the 28th!!!”

The mOObs are a 6 piece cover band, playing in packed pubs, clubs & Festivals, playing the kind of music you want to hear. Covering the best tracks from today’s charts, such as The Killers, Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol and reaching back through the years to the 80’s and the likes of The Jam, The Police, The Stranglers and U2, you really should see, hear and FEEL the mOObs at work.

Groovetrain’s Micky looks forward to a home fixture!

By | Beer Festival 2017 | No Comments

We’ve been speaking to GrooveTrain front man Micky today.
Micky, who lives in Low fell, is looking forward to playing so close to home, he said: “Since we put the GrooveTrain project together in 2012 we have played specialist venues, theatres and festivals across the country with some stunning musicians and so we’re delighted to bring it home to a festival that we’ve been dying to play at. Expect some seriously filthy funk soul grooves and hooks, washed down with some Stax and sax.”
