Festival Parking

By Beer Festival 2021
If anyone is planning on bringing a car this weekend then we’ve got use of the Dryden centre car park which is a 5 minute walk to the venue (NE9 5UR).
(what3words .grid reference  – ///rots.dairy.spicy)
The car park will be open from 12pm to 11.30pm Saturday and 12pm to 11pm on Sunday.
The car park will be closed on Monday, so any cars left overnight will be locked in.
There are a couple of Blue Badge bays at the Cricket Club (located next door to the Rugby Club).
We would however recommend if possible leaving the car at home and using the great local transport links to our club.
Alternatively you could use Dean Taxis who are once again sponsoring our event.

Summer Fest Entry Policy

By Summer Fest

Summer Fest  – Entry Policy

(Please read prior to purchasing tickets)

We work hard to provide a community environment for all to enjoy. However, for several reasons, we are restricting the number of under 18’s an adult can accompany into the festival.

We respectfully ask that *only your own children attend the festival with you*, ‘vouching’ for a friend of your child will not be permitted, as we are limiting the number of under 18’s attending.

For the Summer Fest we are running a new ‘wrist bands’ for all policy.

Over 18’s

In line with our Challenge 25 policy , if you’re lucky enough to look under 25 you will be asked for ID at the gate, where it will be checked prior to entry.

  • All over 18’s will be issued a wrist band. Wrist bands are to be worn at all times – it’s your proof of entry and you will need it to be served at the bar –
  • ‘no wrist band = no serve’ at the bar.

Accompanied children/under 18’s

  • Your child will be signed in at the gate and issued with a wrist band. Wrist bands are to be worn at all times.
  • Any under 18’s who do not have a wrist band will have their names checked against the sign-in sheet and may be asked to leave by our security staff if proof of entry isn’t found.

Please advise our security staff if you have any issues with your wrist band.

If you purchase a ticket online and your ID does not meet the security staff requirements, entry will not be permitted and there will be no refunds. Please do not purchase tickets for anyone under 18yrs, as entry will not be permitted not refunds issued

Sorry to bring the mood down with all the rules, we thank you in advance for your support in ensuring this year’s Summer Fest has the same laid back family friendly vibe we are all used to. See you in August!

North East Independent Beer Awards return to Gateshead.

Prestigious awards ceremony chooses local beer festival as host

The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) has chosen to return to the Gateshead Beer and Music Festival on Friday 29th April as the host for their annual North East Independent Beer Awards.

The festival is celebrating its 12th birthday this year and will provide the venue for the judges to decide on the best beers and ales from the region. The North East champions in each category will join the 7 other regional champions from the UK in moving forward to the national awards, which are held at BeerX, the UK’s largest independent craft brewing trade show.

The awards represent the very best beer from the UK’s independent brewers and are judged by fellow brewers and industry experts, making these awards the “Brewers’ Choice” awards in the UK.

Mark Anderson, Managing Director of Maxim Brewery and SIBA regional trustee , said:

“The North East regional beer competition and awards will showcase the best beers and breweries from Sheffield to Berwick on Tweed. Some 180 real ales of varying styles are entered into the competition and we are pleased that these will then be available for consumption at the Gateshead Beer and Music Festival weekend.’’
