As from Thursday 26th August all online ticket purchases must be collected on the door on the day of your attendance.
There will be no more postal deliveries!
Thanks again for your support.
Our festival returns to Gateshead Rugby Club for the 11th year following the postponement of 2020’s event due to the coronavirus pandemic.
We have 3 days of great music and beers to look forward to – and whatever the weather, we’ve got you covered with both our clubhouse and our large marquee open, plus our large field means there is plenty of space if the sun is shining!
Our Saturday tickets have completely sold out, meaning you can no longer buy either Saturday tickets or weekend tickets on our website, and we won’t be able to admit anyone on the door on Saturday.
However, Friday and Sunday are still available, and we have fantastic beers, ciders, gins, fizz and music waiting for you on both those days, so why not join us?
On Friday, we play host to the Siba North East regional competition which features over 120 ales and porters from local North East and Yorkshire brewers. The competition was held at the festival for the first time in 2019, and is returning once again as the guest judges look to be wowed by the range of ales on offer!
We also see the return of some of our most requested musicians complimented by many bands making their Gateshead Beer festival debuts.
Friday 27th August sees the return of local lads “Smoove and Turrell”. Smoove & Turrell play a style of music they describe as “Northern Funk” – a contemporary fusion of funk, soul, northern soul, hip-hop and electronica.
S&T are joined on the bill by one of the most in demand bands on the circuit The Breakfast Club, who will be performing a set of 80’s classics. Both bands will be joined by C-Saw, Black n Blue, Dead Skunk Skiffle and Blues Orchestra, and Low fell Ukes.
Our Saturday line-up sees a headline set by We are Champion, who perform a tribute to Queen. We also have V12 Band who are fronted by Journey South’s Carl Pemberton. We also welcome back Glam rock favourites The Sleeze Sisters as well as top Elvis tribute Mike Memphis. Completing the Saturday line-up are the sensational Strictly Smokin’ Band and vintage female group The Doo Wop Dollies.
Our final day sees yet another stellar music line-up with a headline set from C-Collective, a high energy band covering Bob Marley to Blur, The Jam to The Prodigy, Eurythmics to Kasabian, The White Stripes to Faithless, David Bowie to Stevie Wonder – all performed with a great sense of fun. They will be joined by festival favourites The Sound Cartel, who perform a setlist guaranteed to have you singing along.
We also have classic rock from Stoned Crowes, featuring the Stoned Crowe pipers. The sounds of Springsteen will fill the tent with a storming set from the NE street band.
Completing the line-up will be Classic sings from The Pretty Weeds, a spectacular performance from the City of Newcastle Pipe Band and the welcome return of the Felling Male Voice Choir.
All in all, we’ve got something for everything, whether that’s drink or music, so why not make it a bank holiday to remember and head along to Gateshead Rugby Club for the best beer festival in the North East
Gateshead Beer and Music Festival 2021 – Important Notice
Please note all previously issued tickets for postponed dates are now invalid and won’t allow access to our 2021 event, please follow the below guidelines for refunds and exchanges.
As the current COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic continues to be in the news, and given the current public health guidance on the limiting of social contact, the committee have today taken the difficult but we believe correct decision to reschedule the 2021 Gateshead Beer and Music Festival, due to be held on 30th April to 2nd May 2021.
The safety of our festivalgoers and volunteers is at the forefront of our decision, and despite discussing additional hygiene measures that we could undertake, it was agreed that the best course of action was to postpone the festival to ensure that we were not putting large groups of people at risk.
With this in mind, the current plan is that the festival be held on the new dates of 27th to 29th August 2021, subject to licence and COVID restrictions.
We are in the process of trying to secure our music line-up for that weekend, however it is likely that there will be some changes with bands already being booked on the new dates, and we will announce what we know in due course.
All ticketholders have two choices: either a full refund, or an exchange to one of the 2021 dates.
If you bought your tickets online:
Please email GBMF2020@gmail.com with your reference number, and state clearly if you require a refund or an exchange.
For refunds, please include your name, sort code and account number, so the refund can be processed electronically. If you would like to exchange, please provide your address and state clearly which date in 2021 you would like to exchange your ticket for.
If you bought your tickets in person:
Please send your tickets via post to:
Gateshead Beer and Music Festival
c/o 24 Valley Forge
Please include a letter that states whether you would prefer a refund or an exchange. Again, for refunds, please include your name, sort code and account number, so the refund can be processed electronically. If you would like to exchange, please provide your address and state clearly which date in 2021 you would like to exchange your ticket for.
We are aiming to keep this process as electronic as possible to remove the need for people to exchange their tickets in person.
Please note that we will not be offering exchanges or refunds in person at the rugby club or other sales outlets at this time.
It goes without saying that the current situation is a moving one and we will assess any further changes in circumstance as and when they arise.
Please bear with us during this period as we expect to be incredibly busy with queries, and we will answer them as soon as possible.
Thank you all for your support during this unprecedented time, and we look forward to hopefully seeing as many of you as possible in August ‘21.
Tickets for the 11th Gateshead Beer and Music Festival are now on sale! Both day tickets and weekend passes are available by clicking here.
Following the publishing of the government COVID-19 roadmap, we are confident we will be able to go ahead with our rescheduled dates of 27th-29th August 2021 with our stellar lineup of fantastic beers and unbeatable music, as well as the return of all of your favourites, including the cider bar, gin bar and premium lager bar!
The full music lineup will be published in due course – we are doing our best to secure as close to the original lineup as possible, however it is inevitable there will be some changes due to the change in date and unavailabilities. However you can be assured we will have a fantastic mix of music over the three days with some of the best local bands around – as we always do!
We will of course be following any government updates closely and ensuring that we take any necessary steps to ensure not only that our festival is compliant, but all of our fantastic guests feel safe and comfortable, including increasing the number of hand sanitising stations around the festival site.
We can’t wait to see you all in August, get your tickets in now!
